Mieszkowski\u2019s second book, <span style=\"color: #ba75b0;\"><em>Resonant Alterities: Sound, Desire and Anxiety in Non-Realist Fiction<\/em><\/span> (2014), includes two chapters on short fiction: the first Vernon Lee\u2019s ghost story \u201cA Wicked Voice\u201d (1889), and and the second on JG Ballard\u2019s sci-fi dystopia \u201cThe Sound Sweep\u201d (1960). An article on M.P. Shiel\u2019s \u201cThe House of Sounds\u201d (1911) is being prepared for publication. Within the context of the <span style=\"color: #ba75b0;\">Women\u2019s Tales<\/span>, her main focus is on the <span style=\"color: #ba75b0;\">short fiction by A.L. Kennedy, Tessa Hadley and Carly Holmes<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Mieszkowski has taught at Amsterdam University College and the American University of Paris, and worked as\u00a0a guest professor at HU Berlin, UZH Z\u00fcrich and the Unversity of Bayreuth.
